Arenal - Tilarán and Arenal - Huetar Norte Conservation Area, Alajuela, Guanacaste, Heredia, Limón
It extends as a 2,000 m wide biological corridor along the frontier with Nicaragua from Castilla Point in the Caribbean as far as Salinas Bay in the Pacific, connecting the Tortuguero Conservation Area with the wetlands of Tamborcito and Maquenque, the El Jardín and La Cureña Forest Reserves and the Guanacaste Conservation Area. This refuge, which is partially disturbed, includes beaches, dry forests, wetlands, moist forests and coastal lagoons.
