Central Pacific Conservation Area, San José
It protects the forest covering the upper part of the Caraigres Hills. The area is very steep and important for the large number of streams that rise here. They are tributaries of the Parrita river. The forest remnants mainly consists of winter’s bark tree (Drymis granadensis) and oaks (Quercus). A few dirt tracks with asphalted sections and gritted sections lead from San Ignacio de Acosta a short way into the protection zone.
